Archived I Found Lots of Delo 400 CI-4

I found a supply of Delo 400 CI-4. First I checked around and only came up with CJ-4 oils. I then tried an oil distributer. I was told they carry four types of oil. Only Chevron is going to make both types for now. Only problem they are not going ship CI-4 in card board. Meaning you will not see 1qt or 1gal sizes. I had to buy it in 5 gal pales. Asked if they would fill my 55 1gal milk jugs but no luck. :-laf The company in Portland OR is Carson Oil Company. You may check around and find a large oil company that will sell CI-4 . It may or may not be the brand you have been using. I payed $49 for a 5 gal pale.

My Walmart has Rotella, synthetic 15-40 in the rack and a huge display in the aisle.

Previous to CJ4, CI4 was cheaper. Thanks for the CI4 lead in Portland.

CJ4 is still the same price here, $8. 88 for a gallon of Rotella.

Very good find. I will check with local distributor. Only thing is, will it keep for 4 plus years. I still have over 4 years of free oil changes at any 5 star Dodge dealer.

Free is a very good price. I wonder if you will get CI4 or CJ4? Also still like to hear if Sam Club is CI or CJ.

The CI4 is the preferred oil but is being replaced with CJ4 when restocked.

local chevron dealer in has c 14 in 6 gallon casses 5 gal. pales 55 gal drums i asked how long they would have it and he said they would continue to have it as long as there was a demand.

What's the oil problem?

I live in Sandy, Oregon near Portland. I use Delo 15-40 only. I buy all I want from a store called Bi-mart which are located everywhere it seems in Oregon and maybe farther. I have seen it also at G. I Joes stores. (They're called "Joes" now for PC reasons). Is the formula changing for the worst in oil? Where do you read about it? Thanks. Herb

I also got my oil from Bi-mart. They ony have CJ-4 now. Any way all I could find. Distributer said ony bulk now to get CI-4. Your not reading the story on the home page?

OOPS! I hadn't read the front page! I didn't know where the oil topic was. I do now and read it. I checked Bi-mart and Thrifty Auto. Crap, they only have the new CJ type available. Time or TDR members will tell what to do. Thanks. Herb
