I finally gave up and purchased new foam for my driver's seat. I had tried fixing the old foam but it didn't last. My back was killing me. Before I put the new foam in, I shortened the wires that run from the front of the seat to the back so there was more tension on the springs. I probably took 1/2 inch off them. I would suggest finding shorter or stiffer springs than messing around shortening the wires. I also used the carpet that I had under the original cushion. Hopefully the combination of the three will yield a tolerable seat for long distances. I have a 2. 5 hour drive coming up on Wednesday or Thursday so I should get an idea if it works or not. Stupid seats.

A year ago I added a piece of foam under the seat foam then placed a piece of cardboard (high dollar repair) over the new foam before attaching the springs. (keeps the wires from cutting into the new foam). Seemed like it could some more help this year. The foam I put in last year was old to begin with. Took out last years foam and added some new Memory Foam. Wasn't quite right so I added another piece under my but. Feels real good now. Need a comfortable but on a long drive. Now if I could find a way to fix the lumbar support.
