"Page has expired" error message?

Scott,

You need to have a 50x50 pixel image stored on your computer or a web site.

Punch the User CP button at the top of the page to get to your profile, then push the edit options, go to the bottom of the page and you will see Avatar.

Push the Change Avitar button (on the right side of the page).

At the bottom you have a couple of options:

#1 You can enter an URL of your avatar:

Highlight the http://www. in the box to the right, then paste the URL of your web image into the box

(Detailed instructions: bring up the image in a 2nd web browser, use the mouse to highlight the image URL in the browser address bar, hold the CTRL key, then press the c key, now switch back to your TDR profile and highlight the http://www. in the box, hold the ctrl key and press the v key).

Now press the Submit Modifications button.

#2 You can upload an avatar from your computer:

Have the image stored somewhere on your computer.

Click the browse button to the right and browse until the image file name (with the complete path to the file) appears in the box.

Now press the Submit Modifications button.

Good Luck! Dave

I've been trying the avatar thing. It keeps saying that my pictures are too big????

Can someone tell me how to make them smaller?

TIA Eric

PS Thats a good one Scott... Mr. T ?!!!

Eric, I just move the pic. into any graphics program, like paint shop pro, etc, click on image, then resize, then resize so the max. pixels are 50X50. By the way, it won't work if you resize to say 60X40, must be 50X50 or less. The save the new pic. as whatever in a folder in your computer.

Thanks Scott. I'm at work now, but I'm certain I dont have paint shop pro. I'm not very computer saavy, but I have to see if another program will be able to do this.

Eric

Eric, you can do it with Paint; it's just not the easiest or most feature-laden program on the planet.

After you have the picture in Paint, click on Image, Attributes, and set the units to pixels. Do the math, and figure out what percentage 50 is of your largest dimension. E. g. Picture is 439 pixels high, 50 is 11% of that (just truncate the result to a whole percentage). Don't change the dimension here; you'll just crop the image.

Click Ok and close that window, and open Stretch/Skew. Plug the percentage you calculated in the previous paragraph into Horizontal and Vertical and click Ok.

Go back into Attributes and ensure that your dimensions aren't larger than 50. Save and enjoy.
