My apologies to the writer of that song...
So my transmission has been going and I figured I bet another one ready before it died. So last week I took a spin up to the JLeonard parts manse for the Getrag 360 blowout sale that was going on... ...
The next day I drive to work, get laid off in the afternoon and on the way home I have a catastrophic transmission failure and the truck gets stuck in 5th. Not a biggie until I hit lights on the highway, traffic and one hill. With no real shoulder to pull off on I limped it home since I wasn't going to a mechanic anytime soon.
small point of interest->If anyone is curious a sufficiently warmed up clutch will certainly smoke as much as an overfueled cummins. I still can smell burnt clutch in my engine compartment.
I dropped my other trans off at the shop the next day and it will be ready next week. By brother wants me to buy his half of the house out and my cell phone had to be sent back to ATT. Does anybody want to go parachuting with me?
