I purchased mine new from dealer in Canada, they drove it to seattle for delivery, it was actual registered as used vehicle, something to do with the way canadian dealer take ownership and then resale them. i had it in for warranty twice, the first the map sensor when out in a traffic jam after an hour of idle time. The second atime the dealer check (a8months, 28,000 miles)it out for warranty but could not duplicate the problem with the trannny. But said to bring it back again before the 36000 miles warranty was up on the transmission and then they drop the pan and check for burn clutches.

I had to get a 3 day permit to move the vechile and show proof of insurance to the Caadian dealer before they turn the vechicle over to me, It when real smooth.

SAving throught Canada

I saved $500 below dealer invoice, but the real reasons were easy to deal with and they happen to have a Short Wheel Base, the local dealers were close, but the fleet manager did get back to me but said he hard press to match it.

Are your speedometer and odometer calibrated in miles or kilometres?

The Speedometer was convert to miles

The selling dealer arranged to have the speedometer converted to US units (miles) at a bonded speedometer shop in Seattle prior to delivery. The only slip up was the odometer was converted straight across 500 kilometers to 500 miles, so I lost 200 miles of warranty not a big deal in the long run.

Private mail me if your interested and I can give the contact in Canada if your seriously interested, I found the orginal deal on ebay, but neogiated the deal and the auction was closed early.

The sacry part was the wire transfer, But we check up on the Mercedes Dealership through a local dealer and confirm it was real.

Jordon, the sale person actually work for a Mercedes dealer, byt they sell Dodge Rams at another dealership and he handles there internet sales. Jordon told be export a lot of Dodge Rams in particually he sent deveral to New Zeland.

In Nov of 01 I purchases a new 01 QC, 3500 w/duals, 4 X 4, 5 speed, XLT driving lights, high end CD, trip computer etc. etc... . sprayed in bed liner... paid under 27K..... Brought it back to the US through a bonded import agent who does nothing else..... My truck last year was his 1072 vehicle..... his charges and the cost of the dash board upgrade were $500 bucks... .

We actually purchased it and licensed it in Canada for 1 week so that the dealer wouldn't be punished by DC... . They get fined if they are caught selling over the border.....

I secured a 3 day trip permit and drove it back... . called my insurance agent for coverage before I drove it off the lot... .

Got all my GST back with paperwork to Canada's Dept of Rev... . BC has a local tax that is not refundable so go to Alberta to buy... ...

I have had 2 problems and my importer is good friends with a dealer here in town... ... seems he does lots of trucks for this dealer..... he called the service dept and they have taken care of me... . I'm happy..... my importer told me that he knows that I paid less for a new truck than the dealer he knows pays for a used truck at the auction... ...

My other trucks have always come from Dave Smith who I personally think is great to deal with..... this one was too good of a deal to pass on... .

I am now looking for something for my wife..... and I'm guessing we will do the same thing if the value is there..... I'm in Edmonton 2-3 times a year on business anyway.....

If you have an questions I'd be happy to answer them... for me, was a smooth transaction... ...
