Exhaust Leaking Past Pyro Fitting In Exhaust Manifold

PDR HX35 vs Dodgezilla (Compressors?)

... Well, maybe "RIPPED" would be more like it! :-laf :-laf

Got my new RR 4 inch exhaust and Don M 1. 6 F1 injectors installed by Rip and crew yesterday after a 225 mile or so trip thru rain and slush up to the Portland Oregon area - sure messed up the underside of my nice (usually) clean truck!

I've installed my own exhaust systems for many years - but the injectors are a different story - and we live too far out in the boonies of eastern Oregon to chance an "oops" screwup...

SO, I had Rip Rook and crew handle the whole bit. The exhaust seen in pics below, is Rips 4 inch setup from turbo to tailpipe - and also includes an added Magnaflow 14 inch long muffler that functions as a drone eliminator - it WORKS! ;)

SOOooo - here's the story in pictures:

In the shop, ready to get started.

The original tailpipe.

And the above clearly shows the difference in size between the old exhaust, and the new!

The setup for the new exhaust, showing the front Magnaflow 14 inch long anti-drone muffler, and the standard muffler further down - both are straight-thru design mufflers.

A view from the side.

Leveling the exit of the tailpipe, and checking spare tire clearance.

YUP - all looks OK - time to weld it all up solid - NO clamps!

NOW it's time to install THESE funny looking things...

#ad

HMMMmmm, now where DO they go? :-laf :-laf

And finally, here's the man hisself - right where he usually is when he is answering YOUR call on the telephone...

SO, all went exceedingly well - the new system sounds nearly identical to the stock one, which was my goal. NO drone or funny noises - and them there fancy new sticks make LOTS of power with little smoke - and for routine empty/around town driving, the Comp will stay OFF - not needed with the 1. 6's!

PLUS, the combination of bigger exhaust and injectors has made the boost FLY up to max when the GO pedal is stabbed - an if anything, EGT has been reduced - more testing and a few trailer tows will tell the whole story.

More to come as it unfolds! ;) :D

Good to see Rip hasn't strained himself cleaning that place up :-laf Somehow he always get my orders right and get's 'em out the same day but I have no idea how! Great crew around that place.

Great Pictures!

I've ordered from Rip quite e few times and will continue to use him as my number 1 supplier. His customer service ethics are excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you like your purchase. Hangin out at Rips is always a good time! Did you go have a Babe's burger? Did you notice in all the pics (except the one involving food), that Robert was the only one working? :D :-laf

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have said that... My next order may have a surcharge attached!

Kidding aside, Robert and Rip are great to deal with. Gary, I bet you had a fun drive home after having your new bombs installed. I bet your idea of driving around with the comp box turned off, doesn't last long though. It's just to hard to resist! :D

Glad you got your new goodies Gary. Don't think that shop has changed much since I was there last sept. Robert is a hard worker & Rip is the bomber guru.

YUP - Robert did a great job - I'm pretty fussy about the truck - it's far more a toy than a utility vehicle, and it really HURTS to have to let others work on it. But Robert probably used more care, and left fewer "tracks" behind than *I* would have. And his welds look GREAT!

Great job Robert!

And of course, like all leaders, Rip gets paid for what he KNOWS more than for what he DOES! :D :D
