Wanna buy a new FORD?

Maybe thay can pass a law that we all paint ower roofs white. That is the lamest thing I have heard in a long time. Some people have to much time on there hands. :-{}

do a search on here. It's been argued through and through. I'm not going to stir up bad memories again, but I've stated my case once, and that's enough. I'm preaching to the wrong choir here so i've given up. Ever heard of ULSD fuel? This is why, atleast some people are starting to acknowledge the fact that billowing huge amounts of black smoke isn't exactly helping the planet. I'm pretty sure most of the threads are in general diesel topics... one might be in the "other" forum.

i acknowledge that we do effect our own environment, and yes there may be some warming going on. HOWEVER, if memory serves me correctly, the ice age ended around 10,000 years ago and there has been a continuous warming of the earth from that time on. the earth has only been industrialized for about the last 200 years (give or take). WHAT was causing the earth to warm the previous 9,800 years ???? we didnt have diesels and there were very few people making fires to heat and cook. remember that molten core that the earth has??? are we responsible for keeping that hot??

as far as lower amounts of sunshine goes, don't we keep hearing on the news that we should stay out of the sun because of increasing ultra-violet rays? yes, i know ultra violet is not part of visible light, but we sure get enough of it here. after all doesnt the sun warm the earth also?

i am not going to abuse my diesel to make it smoke for no reason. i will not idle it for long periods of time as do the police and city vehicles where i live. i also have an emissions check on my vehicles. the state of ohio (i believe) is exempt from having their vehicles checked.

all these things dont add up!!!

yes i want to leave a nice place for my children. yes i consider myself an energy conserver. not a conservationist, just someone who doesnt drive unnecessarily and i turn off lights in rooms where no one is.

as long as i live in the USA, i believe i have a right to drive what i want, as long as it is legal and i can afford it. no that doesnt give me the right to be stupid about things, but then again there is no law against being stupid.

:cool:

there is a huge difference between a preservationist and a conservationist. the greenies and those classified as such are preservationists... the folks that care about how to properly use available resources are conservationists.

I know what you're saying about the Ice age and the gradual warming, but when looking at the last 200 years compared with the previous 9000, the spike is rather obvious. Thats the driving factor with the global warming issue. Now I'm sided with you on this one, I don't put as much stock in what they claim about CO2 and all the "bad" stuff that they claim is happening. But I am acknowleging the unkown factor that the industrialized society of the last 200 years has thrown at the planet.

I think further analysis needs to be done, WITHOUT skewed numbers from biased researchers aiming to prove their point of the end of the world because of a coal burning power plant.

I can't wait for ULSD! In the meantime, I burn biodiesel in every tank to do my part in reducing foreign oil dependence and pollution. I put out my paper to recycle at the end of my driveway like everyone else on the street. Thats about as environmental as I get, however it's nice to do something. Excessive sooting is not a good thing for anyone, but as rhickman said, preaching to the wrong choir...
