I have a 2004 4x4 with 50-60k miles on it. I changed the rear cover with magtech and both diffs. oil with amsoil 15k miles ago. There was been less than 750 miles with heavy towing, and less than 3000 miles with two jetskis. I know that most of you are wondering why I have a diesel. I just like the cummins, and knew it would last :) . Is there anybody with 3. 73 gears that would like 4. 10 around the Midland or Lubbock TX area? Since I do not tow much I do not need or want the 4. 10 anymore.

None of us would ever ask why you got the Cummins;)

You could get a aux trans like the gear vendors instead of swapping gears.

35's & an auto needs 4. 10's IMO. My son did 35's with 3. 73's and auto, I think its geared too tall unless you are an interstate driver.

I have 3. 73's with 33" tires and its borderline tall.

I would like to get shorter tires in the future if I could get 3. 73s. I have considered the trans gear splitter, but I don't drive my truck enough to justify the cost. I was following the thread "gear vendor or gears" (somthing like that) and the topic of somone making 3. 54 gears was interesting, but that topic was never finished. I guess because they could never get replies from American Axle or whoever.
