Come on BIG, you act like "our generation" is the first to do such a thingCheating has been rampant since celebrity was a word. A little Johnny Cash anybody? Or Hank Williams? Maybe some Randy Travis or Garth Brooks?
Its unfortunate that it happens but hardly something you can throw at "my generation" and expect to make it stick. I thought you of all people would know better.
I have Rodney Carrington in my shuffle as well, have to careful to turn it down when one of his little diddys comes on. He can really sing, was very surprised the first time that I heard him do that.
Johnny Cash was only doing research for his songs
Although it did occur in the 50s and 60s, it is a lot more pervasive now than it was then. In fact, it is celebrated. For example. I only know taylor swift because of news stories about her latest boy friends. But that is what she sings about. Even Michael J Fox told her to stay away from her son. The celebrities who "roamed" in the 50s and 60s were mostly known by the public as "roamers", and they more mostly looked down upon for that part of their lives. But today it is so pervasive it is almost expected.
The difference between MY generation and YOUR generation is the depth of social media. Previous generations partied and did whatever the hell they wanted without the eye of the world wide web shoved up their azz every time they farted or sneezed. I'm not sticking up for Aldean or anybody else, but dont act like previous generations are any less guilty. I dont recall anybody from MY generation getting busted at the border with a trunk full of speed, given parole, and then allowed to play at prisons and schools where he was idolized with his girlfriend at his side while his wife and children were waiting for him to come home. And yes, he did make a song or two about it. For the record, I am very much a fan of Johnny Cash's music, not his choices or lifestyle. That is the way it should be.
Nothing different than what's been going on for decades whether you admit it or not.

Not trying to change ANYONES mind because I really don't care to do that. Just going back to the jest of this post is that Most of the Country singers today AREN'T
Youve seen too many movies. The actual drug usage in vietnam was not any more than that back here in the world. And, btw, not everyone did drugs. Most did not. This kind of behavior was not permitted but not necessarily frowned on either. No way would it be tolerated in today's military. What does that say about the previous generation? Anything? How bout the hippie movement? Sex drugs and rock and roll was OK then, but because social media puts the same stuff on blast for the world to see its not OK now and reflects on the generation at hand
