We did have a sort of Social Media back in the day. I can remember sitting watching the News with my Parents when the nightly body count came on from Vietnam. The news covered it pretty good for its day every night they would give a good part of their broadcast to the War in Vietnam.

I know because several of my school buddies had brothers that went and didn't come back in the 13 years we were there. As I got older and it didn't seem to be winding down fast enough the Hippies and Flower love Children :-laf ( how stupid that name is ) started to get more voice & violence in their protests became, and it gave me pause that I could be going also.

I remember that years after the war was over a College student had gone back and recounted the body counts of the TV broadcasts, if what was told on TV was true we would have killed the population of NV several times over :-laf So even then the Media was Full of XXXX. Not much has changed in that view

When President Johnson came through at Christmas 1966 all the B52's at U-Tapao disappeared only to reappear after he and Bob Hope were gone.

Offical record of when B52's operations started in Thailand is April 1967. I know different, as they rattled the Coast Guard Loran Station buildings like a freight train ran them!
