I am getting ready to install gauges in my truck and I am wondering how I am able to run the wires from the cab to the engine compartment cleanly.

Driver side under the dash there is a plastic plate as to where the clutch cylinder would be if you had a 6 speed. Open hood and look right behind you brake resivor you will see the plastic plate i am talking about its about 4-6" long and a couple of inches wide. Perfect for drilling a hole in and throwing a rubber grommett in... . Thats how i got my wires into the cab.....

I've run a bunch of wires into the cab in about the same spot as doughboy did. I think... I used the hole with the rubber cover and just cut a slit into it and ran everything through there. That way it kind of re-seals itself with no effort. I know I didn't have to drill any holes or anything, so I'm pretty sure that's what I did on this truck. I've done a few trucks and just can't remember exactly what on what one.

I use the cover plate for gauges, box controllers and anything else that needs to be ran into the cab. Just make sure you drill a large enough hole for additional wiring, etc. Couple sizes of wire loop and silicon if you want to seal it.

well installing

Well on mine I took the boot cover off of the 4x4 and pulled the carpet baack a little there was enough room to drill a hole for installing a 3/4" myers hub. with 3/4" seal tight flex ran this up to the engine compartment and put a end on the flex ( this keeps it from chafing the myres hub is water tight and the 3/4 flex is damage resistant). If you have a rental store there ask for a knock out kit (slug buster). The Myres hub and 2 ends for the flex ,flex should be available at a hardware store or electrical supply store. Apply paint and this will be water tight. :)
