ANd not just any part numbers. These 2 numbers will ensure dependable consistent stopping for your 1st gen CTD Ram for many years to come. I got the fittings to bypass the useless RWAL valve on these rigs today. I will install them tomorrow as it is raining now, but here are the NAPA numbers-

WEA 7917 & WEA 7828.

Total came to $8. 56 with tax. Well worth it, IMO. And I didnt have to buy any lines or do any flaring. Simply unhook and install the fittings in place of the RWAL module/ solenoid. I will try to remember to take pics tomorrow as I do it.

I had to replace the lines as they were rusted, so I went direct. Daniel, don't forget to unplug the grey box! ;)

Well I struck out. I called NAPA to see if they had parts in stock. OK!. So went to go get them. When I came out of the store I looked at the block before I went home to see if these parts were even close. Not a chance. So I went back in and they said "They were in the wrong box. " They gave me some other pcs and they don't look like they fit anything on my lines. Daniel, Could you post some pics of your setup? My local NAPA is limited synaptically. Although they offered to let me look through their drawers. :D (Two girls working sunday) I passed.

Rebel Ram,

The two brass fittings are supposed to fit one into the other; like reducing it twice. It took me a while to figure it out as I was under the truck. You'll be using the main line going INTO the ABS valve. Connect the main brake line to the larger fitting and then to the smaller fitting. Bend that whole line with the fittings back to where the flexible brake hose that comes from the axle connects to. You will be eliminating that smaller line FROM the ABS valve to the flexible hose and replacing it with the MAIN brake line that you reduced twice with the two fittings. Darn, I would send you some pics but I'm not at home. I hope these instructions make sense to you. Lastly, bleed the lines thoroughly and you'll have a rock hard pedal. Oh, don't forget to disconnect the wires from the ABS box behind the glovebox to keep the warning light off.

Aloha,

Matt

Do you have the sizes for these? My local napa store crew acted like they didn't know what I was talking about, even after I gave them the part no's.

When I did mine, I didn't get rid of the smaller line, I just adapted the two lines together with two fittings. not as much bending that way. I took the fittings off the RWAL that connect to the brake lines and showed NAPA that I needed to hook the two lines that went into these together. They need to look in the yellow Weatherhead fittings cabinet. I had to help them, but the result does work like a charm.

I'm not sure about the sizes. I'll check this week and get back here with sizes. I figured part numbers would be sufficient. NAPA is open on Sunday in some area? Weird.....

Yup, open the g-box, tweak the tabs to fold it down, there it is! Just unplug the wires, and you're good to go. :D

Thanks... . nuther question... how many fittings of the above mentioned part numbers are needed? 1 each? or 2 each.

I need to do this very same thing, my ABS/Brake lights starting staying on about 2 months ago. I was wondering what it would take to get rid of the ABS system. Now I know!!

Thanks for posting this! Oo.

ESchoon,

Bypassing the ABS system is kinda like installing a 366 gov spring. It makes the truck more fun to drive. :-laf Stopping power feels real good with a nice firm pedal that bites much higher.
