can someone tell me what exactly is a locking diff and how it is better compared to a limited slip? thanks in advance

A locker uses a ratchet,air,electricity,or gears to mechanically lock both axels together. A limited slip uses springs and clutches to make both axels turn when traction is poor, but allows slippage between them to make turns without "jerking".
