Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I just ordered a smarty

I finally took the plunge and ordered it. Bob Wagner was ultra quick to respond and call me to get it all worked out. He is a great person.



I can't wait to try it out and experience the responsiveness of my might Cummins! It's no dog now so it should be intersting. My stock turbo is going to hate me even more now

I just got a smarty that was loaned to me by another TDR member. It is like I traded in my truck & bought a race car. Awesome throttle response & when stacked with my edge comp, It throws me back in my seat. The black clouds are controllable too. Marco really knows his stuff. The smarty is my next mod to come & will have to be pryed from my fingers when I have to give it back... . LOL

Thanks Cummins724, I am a bit worried about too much smoke as I have plenty now. I don't want to black out the road every thme I stand take off. Of course it is fun when you want to!



I'll be hanging out bu the post office alot next week!

I am interested in how it will perform with the banks box. I am considering switching to a edge juice with attitude and getting rid of the banks, after I get my new transmission and injectors. But if the smarty stacks well with the banks then that might be a good option for me.



By the way how did the injectors work with the banks?

From what I've read, a box without timing is the best. All ottomind boxes that tap the pump wire don't do timing. I think they will work well together as long as EGT's don't go over 1300F :-laf



For that reason I'm gonna put my banks probe post turbo and get another one for pre turbo.

What will a Smarty do for my setup? Is it just more responsive from the stoplights around town or will it actually make my truck quicker in the quarter mile?



Also, I hear it will allow me to calibrate my speedometer with 315's, is this true?

After 24 hours I can say that SW9 on my truck is too much for daily driving, I actually made a car completely disappear with smoke I seem to think SW3 is going to be the best setting for normal driving. I had to try SW0 just to see and it was hilarious, it was a true pig, but no smoke! :-laf



If I had a lighter foot I'd probably leave it set higher but I don't want to known as the local smoke head.

What is NORMAL driving ?

We drive 7000 lb. 600 hp sports cars ! oh yah forget we can pull small mountains at the same time.

NORMAL, I guess. Owned mine since new, special ordered for me, just slightly modified

thanks to all you ingrates that got me started down that very steep HP slope.
