BUT... .
This one will be too much of a "cool factor" to resist!

A while back, a friend gave me a 42" cut Murray mower with a 16 horse V-twin Briggs & Stratton vertical shaft engine. The carburetor had messed up (trash in bowl, float stuck closed) and he burnt up the starter trying to crank it. He got p1ssed and gave it to me. I already have a good (properly fueled) Kubota mower, so this one has been sitting in the shop.
While searching recently for the engine I got for our hot water washer at work, I found a vertical shaft 17 horsepower Yanmar engine. Yep, I am going to breathe new, properly fueled life into this ole Murray! I will post pics after I pick up the engine and get the gasser off of it. This one should be fun, especially since the mower is an older one (all metal!) and in good condition.
:D

Only one more project will be looming in my mind and that is a diesel push mower. Hatz makes an engine and my old Lawn Boy 2-stroke has seen better days and is getting hard to get parts for. Time for diesel power!

Picked up the engine today. I have not had any time to tinker or research it much but it is complete with everything except the muffler and radiator. It is a vertical shaft V-twin. Has a "composite" intake manifold and rocker covers and is an all-aluminum engine block and heads. Injection pump sits between the cylinder "jugs". It is 7 hundred something cc. Came with voltage regulator, electric transfer pump, glow timer, fuel solenoid, coolant reservoir bottle, starter, radiator hoses, air filter and housing, exhaust gaskets and was still in original packaging. This is a 2001 engine, never used and I got it for $350!! I will have to figure out how to wire it to the mower I have, but dimensionally, it will go right in place of the V-twin Briggs & Stratton 16 horsepower engine currently on this mower. Should be an awesome project. I will not be able to start on it till after the first of the year. Will take pics soon!

yeah man post them picture up. . this could be a good swap into a economy tractor. . I have a 3 cyl kubota I want to swap into my Economy but haven't have n't had the nerve to cut it up as the kohler runs so good for 30years old. .
