Has anyone here ever changed out a heater core in a 93 pontiac grandam? I have one as a daily driver and parts car and yesterday the heater core craped out on me. Its a 93 with the 3. 3 liter v6, it's been a good little car for the longest time first major problem ever and it has over 116,000 miles. I am going to try to go to AutoZone and get a manual tomorrow but any help nyone can give would be great. If this is too difficult it might co to the dealer but I hate to do that if I can avoid it I will. If you think DC has some sh#$y dealers you should try the Cheby GM dealer around here. Took the grandam in to have the seat belt clip replaced under warranty and they replaced to hole retracting machanism in the door instead of the 20 minute plactic clip on the belt clip.

I worked a couple of summers in an Olds dealership doing just those sort of things. If I'm not mistaken the Grand Am is basically the same car as the Olds Cutlass Ciera. Only ever had to do one evaporator core on one of those, never a heater core. I think you're evap core may get in the way of the heater core. I don't know if there's a way to get the heater core out from the inside of the cab. If you can't get it out from inside then you'll have to mess with the AC. The engine can be rocked forward for room to work by removing one end of the top engine mount. Hope this helps.

Guys, Thanks for the info. Got looking yesterday and you can get to the heater core from the inside of the car. I have to take the center console out and it sits right there on the floor. A freind of mine works at a GM dealer in Salem and he is going to get the shop manual for me and come down to the house next week and help me replace it.
