Not that any of you care, but I need a bunch of like-minded people to profess my love for my '97 12V to. My coworkers look at me like I'm nuts. Anyway, my wife and I just did a cross-country jaunt (4782 miles round trip in 3 weeks) and the truck ran beautifully. Doing 70-80 mph the whole way, with the AC on, and a 4x4 with auto trans the truck got over 20 mpg! On the return trip we had the bed fully loaded too, including a Ford 9" rearend for my Jeep (about 300 lbs, I'll estimate entire load weighed 800 lbs) and got a best-mileage over 530 miles of 20. 68 mpg. And here I thought my 230/605 plate, slid forward, with boost fooler, straight-pipe and 285s would kill my mileage. My dad looked at his V6 Dakota with disgust.

Anyway, sorry to bug you with my ranting. Just wanted to crow a little!

Oh, by the way, Geno's Garage "Cup Smoothie" is worth its' weight in gold.

I LOVE my truck too!

but I think she's becoming a little disappointed in me--with the slow delivery of BOMBS and other promised goodies. :(

People Love the Truck

I wonder if UPS is giving away stickers with their slogan? I too just finished a 2400-mile trip to Colorado with some of my family in a second vehicle. Everyone rotated seats, although they had to pry me outa the driver's seat. Everyone likes the truck.

I think it's especially cool that I can setup my laptop on the center console and my 8-yr old boy can watch DVDs. Sure makes those 11-hour driving days more bearable! I thought that setting the cruise control on 75 and flattening 11,000-ft passes was pretty cool. Averaged 19 mpg, with a best tank of 21. 5 coming out of the mountains.

Cheers,

Neil

LOVE my truck and will love it more when it's all one color! The other day I was thinking back about the gutless cars I have had in the past and how awesome it is now that no hill will slow me down.
