My 17 yr old cousin came out to the place tonight wanting to know if he could borrow one of the JD's to pull a friends explorer out of some mud. Seems his buddy thought a stock ford explorer with some nice highway tires was still good enough to take on a minimum maintenance road that is basically nothing more than a mud pit. When I pulled up there was a gasser Ford 3/4 ton trying to pull it and doing nothing but spin. I explained to them that with the explorer being buried to the frame they had alot of digging to do before that was gonna move. I pulled out my Hi-lift jack and worked till I hit some solid ground and then gave them some space to throw some concrete blocks under the truck so they could start digging. Once I felt they had a good base ready I told the guy with the ford to go ahead and try because there really wasn't much left to do other than pull her free of the suction of the mud. Again he just spun. So I had him get out of the way, put the hitch in my fron reciever and pulled up to the explorer. hooked on, threw it in 4-low and backed right on up. The look on those kids faces was absolutely priceless. The owner of the explorer jumps out and comes running up to my window, thanking me for getting him out, he said the truck had been there for two days and they had been trying all kinds of friends trucks and everything. Now I realize 90% of getting him free was being smart about how and where to dig to free the vehicle, but I would buy another one of these things just for the look on that kids face again. As my grandpa used to say "It was a coming to Jesus moment, for thou hast seen the light":D :D :D Hope you guys are enjoying your beasts as much as I enjoy mine!!!! Talk to you later
