A Tale of RV Quality - Not

flat bed truck body

I'm looking for a 5th wheel hitch and thinking about getting a B&W with the companion 5th. Owners of this setup are you satisfied or think you should have gotten something else?

I am needing a set of rails for a reese I can be emailed at -- email address removed -- or 940-735-4029 I live in Texas.

B & W. Easy set up. Takes 10 minutes to place it in the bed. Leaves your bed clean when not in use. When I had my 5ver I stored the companion under the king pin with a few long shank locks to prevent theft.

Love mine, and other people as well when they see rig without the 5ver. Was getting Propane the other day, when I got back to my truck after paying the bill, there was a gentleman looking over my rig. His comment was, "where can I get this and how do you like it, those locking jaws are huge. " :)

Thanks for all the input. It's not the cheapest setup and it's not the most expensive setup either. I think this is what I will go with. We just got rid of our TT. Now comes the fun part looking for a newer 5th wheel. :)

Best thing since CTD ended up in a Dodge!!! :D

I love mine and had a few people get one after I showed how easy it was to swap from one to the other.

Another good hitch is a PullRite. I'm very happy with mine. When I unhitch, I can pull the rails out in a matter of minutes and have a clean bed for whatever I want to haul.

best of the best and like stated, made in the USA by a very reputable man.
I toured the plant in Kansas when I had my B&W bed installed where it was built. They have the latest machines and the employee's are very dedicated to the company, and it shows in their quality. I have some pictures, if you want, I will install them from my laptop to my computer, so I can upload them here.

B&W companion hitch

I pulled the trigger on a new 6. 7 and had taken the old HiJacker slider out of the old truck. In trying to figure out a hitch for the new truck or installing rails agin did not need the slider so I odered a B&W on line from RVWholesalers.com Internet Parts‏. Had to have it shipped to a commercial address but shipping was free and It cost me $ 1062.

A good price and choice, you will be happy with it. Buy some white grease and grease the Urethane supports for longevity. :)

How easy/hard is the B&W to install? Any gotcha's to be aware of? George I never thought of the PullRite, always thought it was too expensive. But looking at the price for everything it's only a couple hundred dollars more.

It is a great hitch, but difficult to install. I did my own insulation.

I didn't install mine, but the supports are different because the bed was constructed by B&W and they itegrated into the bed. But, from what I understand its a prefab bolt on bracket which should also give you the exact location for the hole cutout in the bed thats needed. You must identify what truck and year when purchasing the hitch setup, because it uses existing hole's in the truck to bolt on. Why would that be hard, it is the location of the bracket that makes it hard to install, and the hardest thing I would think, would be the hole in the bed and trying to make it look clean?

What made it so hard

How long will it take to install ? and what makes so hard ? It should be here thrusday. Iam really looking forward to hooking up and trying the new truck on a pull.

Mine took about 4 hrs to do on a 97 2WD CC. Measure several times before you drill that 4in. hole in the bed. It came out real nice and I'd sure recommend it.
