I Need A First Gen. Under Hood Picture

I'm a second generation driver and I would like if someone with a first generation could take a under-hood picture and post it for me. I am mounting the "REEL" type under hood light in my truck. I need to see the orientation that it is mounted for the mercury switch to operate when opening. MUCH OBLIGEDOo.

jbolt, Thanks but I have the earlier light that has a cord reel on it. It enables you to pull the light out and use it around the truck. It came off of a '90.

UNDER HOOD LIGHT

HELLO, i had a 1989 dodge and the light on it was mounted on the fender where your air cleaner is,about half way on the fender over the center of the inner fender,enjoy joe

I took my under hood light off my 89, because i have the hood open alot and i didnt like it on all the time. I have it and the wiring harness advertized on ebay. Bill

My 90 has the light reel on it, but i don't have a picture. When I get home, I can check out how it's mounted.

Thanks Phil, If you can tell me how it is oriented under the hood, That would help. I need to know because of the automatic switch for the light when the hood is up.

The underhood of my 90 has an "X" brace for support. The light reel is mounted to a straight bracket, one end is bolted to the lower bar of the "X" on the drivers side, at a 90 degree angle. The straight bracket is parallel with the upper bar of the "X". If you draw it out, it might make sense.



When mounted, the light is pointing to the passenger side. It is almost parallel with the top edge of the hood. It points slightly downward... . not very much. When I sighted it, it was pointing just above the passenger side hood hinge.



It turns on and off at about the halfway open spot.



For those concerned, the numbers on the light are 56004116 and underneath that is 25797.
