Lot of folks run and praise Southbend clutches. Peter (the owner) stand behind his products 110%. I'd call him, but what do I know I don't have to shift!:-laf :-laf

My Southbend is a great clutch, very smooth and no chatter at all even backing up the TT. Their customer service is wonderful.

I put in the Southbend Con O after my #5 plate went in. The stock clutch doesn't take much to let go.

I don't know clutches, so I can't claim it's the very best, but this clutch is everything that they claim. It holds VERY WELL, and it is INCREDIBLY SMOOTH, and it seems like it takes less leg than stock. Peter is also very helpful and stands behind his products.

Need more than that?

If you tow a lot, the 13 inch Southbend is a major upgrade. It's expensive, and takes a new flywheel. The torsion springs in the center disc are way outboard for super torque handling capability. There are cases of the stock center disc shredding in high torque low rpm towing. I put the 13" OFE in mine last April and love it. It is truely a big upgrade. Should never have to mess with it again. Southbend is a great company and will work with you on application, and they bend over backwards to provide support and service. Go For IT:D

I have a center force in mine and really like it. Never gave me any problems... it was even in a 99 24 V that was close to 450 horse and held real good. My brother might be able to sell you one... . his s/n is Reb. B You could ask him some questions about it.

I wouldn't go with a button clutch, too much chatter. I have a Sachs, and love the way it holds, but I hate the chatter. My next clutch will be a southbend for sure, I hope it will be going under an 03' :D . Anyway, if you want smooth holding, don't get a button.
