Archived I need a new dana 80

The rear axle in my 1999 2500 4x4 w/dana 80 rear is shot... repair shop tried to get reman. unit from www.jasperengines.net but it was going to take two weeks to get it as they have none in stock. could someone tell me where I can get a new or rebuilt axle for my truck? I would consider a disk brake rear and I can do the necessary modifications. Thanks I'm kinda in a hurry .

Dealership parts dept. quoted me a price in excess of $6000 for a new rear axle assmbly and even wasn't sure if that came with axles!!! anybody got a wrecked truck for sale?

Can you use the earlier Dana 70, there should be alot laying around.

can't find a dana 80 locally , I'm gonna have to pay $2400 to rebuild mine. w/90 day warranty.

There is an older motorhome chassis that is in our waste yard. I know it's a 1 ton dodge, if ya want I can look it over and see if it is in working condition. Won't cost but shipping might be high. Mike.

Thanks but,i'm having the rear rebuilt . I needed to get it back in service asap.
