Today I found out whats wrong with me

Need info for a 76 Power Wagon rebuild.

First- Hi Guys, been away for a while, it's nice to come back to some refreshing perspective that is this board.

Now for what I need advice on. I am trying to decide weather to call in what sems to me as being suspicious activity.

I am renting a storage unit at a facility in NYC that is convienent to a highway. My neighboring unit renter (a couple) who I have seen twice in a 6 month period seems to be the type worth watching. They have a small van with VA. plates and it's the contents of their unit that has me pondering. I am not a nosy Guy, but when I saw the 10'X10' unit PACKED to the hilt with Baby formula (dry type) I started watching them a bit. I noticed some decoys like a suitcase packed with clothes, zipped open on the ground and a folded baby carriage- with no Baby around.

It seems that they were fumbling about for a while and then they just packed up and left with what seems like stuff they may have had when they came.

It's not like they were loading belongings (like I was) or Holiday ormanents or anything like that.

I am not too keen on attracting attention to myself, and I usually mind my own business but I have been sleeping on this for a couple weeks now. Can dry Baby food be used for a terrorist puropse?

stuff

Well Wayne-perhaps they are into stealing baby formula and this is where they keep their stash- wouldn't be unheard of and probably a pretty good market in hot formula. You can always drop a dime on them to the local Police - and if they are into something worse -then so much the better. If there's nothign wrong then no harm no foul. . just my thoughts on this. .

Wayne,

That's a tough one. When you see them, do they act suspiciously? Certainly, dry baby formula is not "dangerous" but maybe it's not dry baby formula in the boxes. Considering the location of the storage unit, I would make the call.

I saw something on one T V awhile back about baby formula being use as a cover . If I remember right it was one of those 60 min. type shows but I cant remember . It caught my attention because it was baby formula . Its been a year or so ago . I would go ahead and call the Police and tell them . Wouldn't hurt if you had a plate number either .

Bet it's goods from a hijacked truck, call the cops.

Something funny and understandable I heard recently-- many people in Asia and Africa think that Americans are cannibals because they assume baby food is made from what the name implies. Doesn't help when most baby food has a picture of a baby on it, in areas where many of the people are illiterate, the label usually depicts a picture of what the package contains.

EAT ME

I doubt it's terrorist related (although it could be someone's idea of "survival food"), but counterfeit baby food is a lucrative business. Here are a few examples. I would call the PD in the town that the storage facility is located. If you can, ask to speak to a fraud detective and run it by them to see what they think.

Hmmm... lets see... lots of boxes of white powder... hmmm what else is a white powder and worth alot of $$$ Maybe they smuggled in a big load of coke in baby formula boxes. . That is my guess.

Drop the dime on them and see what happens. No matter what they are up to it sounds wrong.

Look at it this way, if it was me saving baby formula in a storage container, and the cops questioned me, I would be happy that somebody was watching me, It could be Anthrax or something.

Now about the VA tags, people who move to NYC try to keep there out of state tags as long as they can, so they can afford insurance.

A chemist told be once, that Creamora and some other common household ingredient, mixed, will spontaneously combust I wonder if the same can be said about dry formula.

My guess is that they are shoplifting the stuff for a future child, or for the blackmarket. Maybe they're collecting it for their 72 Hour Emergency Bag.

Thanks Guys! Your wisdom speaks volumes. I am still on the fence. If I got a reaction like the stuff is like fertilizer or something- I'd bug out. I don't care if they're moving hot stuff, just worried about our safety. They said to be aware of your surroundings.

If the thought tugs at me again, I WILL call.

Hey Wayne M. -------- tonight on one of the local TV news stations here in Houston there was a story about one of the local Police Dept. had got a tip about a large group of people from Central America (that are in the U. S. ) that were stealing dry baby formula ( a lot of it was outdated) and selling it to people . They said that this ring of thieves where scattered through out the U. S. They put up pics. of a lot of people that are involved and they said that a lot of them hadn't been caught yet . This might be what you seen ~~~~~~ what a deal , cross the border and steal stuff and sell it back to people !!!!!!!!

Well. They always say "breast is best" for the baby. So, if you find a warehouse full of counterfeit breasts call ME. :D

Why would you not get involved?

Even if this stuff is real formula , would you want any relative of yours CONSUMING it? The storage conditions alone would concern me.
