2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission I need cruise control !!

I want to install cruise control on my truck its a 98 12valve with a 5spd. I belive the dealer kit will only fit the auto trucks. I would also consider one of the after market systems. Ive done a search and some people have tried the after maket systems. But no one has posted any feed back as to if thay liked it or not. I would really like to use the dodge steering wheel even with the after maket system. Or could I adapt the auto system to standard truck. Its not pleasent taking long trips with out cruise control it does a number on my knee when I drive for more than eight hours.

I added cruise to my 94 5 speed with a kit from the dealer. Not a bad install and price was reasonable.

I forgot to add I also have the airbag in the steering wheel. And im sure the dealer said that I could not use there kit. Mabe he is wrong or doesnt have time to reserch what I need.

Mine has airbag too. Kit includes factory type buttons on the wheel, new clockspring (with more connectors) and the underhood stuff. I think it was about $120

Went to another dealer today. Same thing there books dont go back to early 98 I need a part # any help

Well, I did some digging and found my reciept.



82403012 SPD CNTRL 1- 26- 1 is what's In the space for part number/description with a list price of $125. 00. (purchased 9/8/95)



I hope that helps. I can't say for sure it would fit a '98 though. Maybe when they look it up there will be some application data. I'm guessing you have the same style steering wheel and connectors, etc.

If you could get that from him, all you need is the clockspring and steering wheel buttons. Just a thought... .
