The fuel is leaking out the fuel line nuts in the head where it meets the delivery tubes. I tried cranking the nuts tight. no help I then tightened them more by tapping the wrench with a rubber mallet to get a little more turn on it. no help. Then New injectors. no change New delivery tubes, with new O rings, still leaks. I tried 2 different Injection lines, still leaks. It seems to leak more while the engine is not running, the fuel seems to seeps out of the bottom of the threads on the nut. The truck also has a hard start when sitting for over night. I believe its due to the fuel lines leaking and fuel bleeding back. This has been going on for the last 2 months, I keep trying new ideas and new parts and the wife says no more money for parts unless i know for sure i know what it is.

I hope some one else has had this problem and knows the answer. please post your thought and ideas...

thanks Kevin

You might have a cracked transfer tube. Which cylinder is it? If it one of the 1,2,3,4 you can do a 20 min. swap. Or, get one from a local Cummins dealer. That costs money and permission. Mike

All of them leak, I put new tubes and O rings and it still leakes

when installing injectors you must put the transfer tube in the head and seat it to the injector body before tightening the injector hold down clamps. If not done in this order the injector can be twisted slightly causing the transfer tube to leak. By the way tightening the injector line nut does not ever fix this problem the torque spec for this nut is only 28 foot lbs.
