You'd better not be smokin' MY Duramax, or I'll get ahead of you with my Cuymmins and spray-paint your Mopar with the oil leaking from my rear seal!

jsimpson,
Are you running Ams Oil in that 89 Ram? You are not the first person I've heard of with seal problems from running synthetic oil. I don't know what is so great about that stuff other than the price!

Hey, I voted for Bush; don't blame me!
256,000 miles out of a Honda Accord - no wear on engine when I sold it. 20% higher top speed and fuel mileage on my motorhome, much easier shifting and lower operating temperatures in my Harley; I could go on and on. As for the leak, it was leaking when I got it. If you've got a leak, synthetic oil will leak FASTER because it's more slippery. But weighing the benifits against the leak, I can't bring myself to take it out!
By the way, my buddy who owns a 2000 powerstroke crew cab was more than impressed with my 12 mpg mileage toting a Lance and pulling a trailer full of Harleys.
