I think I have an issue with cruise control. The truck surges and backs off when in cruise control.

My truck surges and backs off when in cruise control. The EGT changes only a little bit when surging but the boost goes from 5# to 12# while attempting to maintain the selected speed. Hills seem to be a factor. Sometimes the truck maintains the speed with no surges or backoffs. My rig is 2500 4WD Auto with Banks Power Pak. Does anybody have ideas? When I don't use the cruise it seems normal.

Yep, lower the power. The power comes on much too aggressively and fast that it over shoots the cruise set speed and the cruise control unit can’t adjust fast enough the back it off in time, so it drops it only to repeat the cycle.
