I guess we have to guess... . :) Ok, being you mention going back to a 12 valve, my guess will be the motor, more specifically your ecm? Looking at your signature, the first thing I would do, would be to remove the Edge from the equation.

Just in general Im in the wrong section to talk engine... ... . the Edge is fine... its just fix one thing something else goes wrong IE fix Apps then something else fails ..... With my 96 all mechanical no issues what so ever.....

My '92 was flawless for the 7 or so years I owned it. Traded it on a new '01 in the summer of 2000 and had more issues with that one than any other. Some were self inflicted, but others were just the common 24-valve blues. We now have a little nearly 400K combined on the two 3-gens we have. Both were purchased new and so far have been very happy. Apps at 200+K on the '04. 5 and a water pump and a set of blend doors on the '07 around 50K. Lots of ball joints, universals, tires, etc. But other than that, nothing worth noting. I'm sorry to hear that you are not as happy with your experience.

My truck was doing great Im the second owner..... I replaced the ball joints 3 times axle joint 3 times hub bearings blend door water pump now thw thing started rusting very bad and quick rocker panel withing 1 year are completely shot with threw rust... ... . all before 80 k... .

Yes, the road salt that they use here and in your area just does a number on these things. One of the reasons that I sold my '92 when I did was it was starting to rust badly around the front wheels and under the cab lights. When I purchased my '01, the dealer suggested that I take it to Ziebart and have it done. I have had every one of our new vehicles done there since and I take them back for the annual inspection/respray. It has really made a difference. We use the '04. 5 as a plow truck and it does have some rust on the back bumper (which Ziebart doesn't treat) from the salt spreader, but the rest of the truck looks great.

My 93 was a PIA from the beginning. From the radiator core support to the rear diff, it had failures and leaks and that includes the eng. Thankfully I had gotten the extended warranty so when I bought my 03, I got the warranty again.
I've never used it.

This Computer BS suxs... .....

I thought it was the computer that "suxs"? How do any of these items have to do with a computer of any kind?

Maybe you meant "I'm going back to a 2nd generation truck"?

Like the Title says 12v

Not to get off topic, but did you see the '97 that just came for sale in the TDR classifieds? Little rough around the edges, but from So Cal and rust free. We would never find something like that in the salt belt. Don't know who owns it, but looks like a great deal.
