I just saw this on e-bay. If no one else bids on this truck aren't they going to get it for about 16,000. Don't you have to set a reserve if you want a certain price.

Sorry Steve, I was not sure where to put this. I just thought if someone was looking for a 3rd gen they could check it out and maybe get a good deal. Or someone could warn the guy about the mistake he had made.

YUP - don't see many of those 8 cylinder HO Cummins running around anymore...

Don't worry - there will be MANY more bids on that as deadline nears... ;)

My Guess is that he did make a mistake.

Or he is confident that will be lots of action on it?????

Probably the former.

I know that there are several days left, but that is a pretty big gap to fill I think. I did notice that prototype cummins HO V8:)

Snow Racer if you want it my Dad lives in Dallas, and me and him would gladly drive it up to Corvalis to you. J/k

He's obligated to sell the truck to the highest bidder if there is no reserve. In all reality the high bidder probably won't get the truck. It could get ugly though.

It looks like a Cummins emblem on the fender. If someone gets it for that price, that is one heck of a deal.

Will

People who do this on ebay do it on purpose, they say no reserve, except the first bid, then as the auction nears, you will see that the seller has ended the auction early, because its no longer for sale. There seems to be a lot of this.

Frankly it ticks me off!!

I agree wholeheartedely

It really p*$$es me off, that EBAY allows this sort of thing to happen.

screwed up? Maybe...

It may be a scam. Notice the terms are WIRE TRANSFER OR CASHIER'S CHECK ONLY!! Once either of these are sent, your money is GONE!! Will you get a truck?

Maybe, maybe not.

He did state that he could pull the ad if sold early. I hate that crap also as I have lost two trailers to that scenario. Also I don't think this is a scam if you go back on his ratings he is there from Feb 04. I think he is just faitful that the bidders will show up, if not he'll say he sold it locally and is no longer available.

Ebay....Buyer beware

Ebay is all about protecting the seller and screwing the buyer.

Seller has all the rights. Buyer has none.

buyer is obligated... contracted to complete transaction. Sellers are not. Frankly, one sided contracts are no contract at all. just a screw job.

Ebay has now limited how and why you can cancel a bid. Notice too late that the seller has a terrible record? tuff. ebay doesn't care. you have made your bid. It is not a valid reason to cancel your bid any longer. (it can still be done). Just they don't like it and it is against their "rules"

anyway... All Rights go to the seller (who pays ebay by the way... . ) Big suprise there...

I disagree. MY wife sells on EBAY. And she has had some shady characters do what they call charge-back on her account. Which, in plain English, means that they steal the money, after they get the product. And apparently the seller has no recourse. I do not understand how this can be legal, but it happens. So, in other words, "both" sides have to be wary. Sad, but true. :(

shady sellers

Ever notice how many high bidders have 0 feedback. I searched one car dealers current auctions and 18 out of 20 listings had high bidders with 0 feedback. Maybe just increasing the bids on his own auctions to drive up the price.

O-kay. You guyz were right. It went from 16,000 to 22,500 over night. I really thought it would stay pretty low. But it looks like this guy will get what he wants for it. I hope.

My experience with eBay, and I've had alot, is that it will bring at least what it's worth. The only time it doesn't is when the seller has low or bad feedback.

I suppose another way to do it is if he does not like the high bid to wards the end, he can always put in a HIGH bid? In essence he won his own truck.
