Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) I threw P0500 today

Now i know what the code is and why I got it. But, I will warm my truck up at between 1100 and 1200 RPM. I didn't think that this code would be set until upwards of 1400 RPM for several mins.

What gives? I know the code is nothing serious, I just don't like the ominous Engine Light staring in the mug early in the morning.

Anyway to avoid doing this again apart from not high idling?

I've had that one a few times,



Its basicly a lost communication with the vehicle speed sensor or VSS. No biggie it showes up sometimes when you allmost are to a stop (well for me anyways) but look into getting another sensor tho.



Edit: I noticed yours is an '02 it should be the same.
