After a few weeks of cold weather I finally was home to put in my cold weather fronts. I pulled the fan at the same time also. It came off easy with a screw driver and a water-pump pliers. I figure if I pull the fuse for the AC clutch then I have no worries about hurting the AC with no fan. While I was under the hood I fixed the relay for the fog lights so they stay on during high beam. Works great, there is alot less noise from under the hood, and having the fog lights on with high beams sure helps alot. Now just have to see if I can get the fast idle TSB working tomorrow.

you may want to plug the relay in a few times this winter to allow the oil to circulate and keep from having to replace the a/c pump and other components next spring when you want the a/c to work

just my . 02

Fog light relay??

TBrown, how did you do this to you fog lights, tell me where it is and what to do. Thanks

FWIW: While empty, I usually have the fan off and 1/2 to 3/4 of the radiator blocked. No Problems... even in traffic.

Pulling the A/C relay is a good idea. I usually remember to use the Defroster while in motion. Besides, doesn't do swat when its first started.

All I did to make the fog lights stay on was cut one of the spades off of the relay. It is the second fog light relay, the one closer to the fender. It uses the normaly closed contacts and is energized on highbeam breaking these contacts. Just cut one of the spades to the coil wires. It is either one of the end ones in the row of three spades side by side.

Tbrown, you may want to put that fuse back in the AC. you will need it for the defrost cycle if you windows start to fog up in the rainy weather. you wont be able to get it de-fogged without a little cold dry air.

just keep an eye on the temps you should be fine. these things run cold anyway and have a very large capacity for cooling.
