... are there any tips or tricks for staying logged on with it? I'll log on and the come back a few minutes later and go to the forum and I'll be logged out. I tried to follow the instructions for IE, but it's not even close to the same. Any thoughts Steve? Anyone? Thanks:)

Make sure you're allowing cookies from turbodieselregister.com.

Go to Tools-->Options-->Privacy-->Cookies-->Exceptions and make sure turbodieselregister.com isn't in there as 'Block'. If it is, remove it, log in to the site again, and accept the cookie.

(Running Firefox/Firebird/Phoenix for a while now... so much better than IE!)

Ooooh, so that's where you can do that, cool. I didn't realize that the word cookies was a hyperlink. I went in and made tdr.com a cookie that's always accepted. Thanks TyOo.

Thanks for helping Ty! I would have been at a loss because I've never run firefox. I have enough work trying to keep up with the more mainstream browsers out there. Let me tell you - it's a nightmare trying to make everything compatible with all the browsers out there. I do my best but it's not always good enough :( .

No problem.

Web standards would be a lot easier if MS didn't break them. I think that's why Mozilla had (it's much better now) more problems rendering pages than the other browsers early on in its development--Mozilla actually follows the standard. Too bad MS purposely broke that standard for IE, and since IE has the marketshare, everyone has to break their HTML and kluge it together to make the compliant browsers work...

Anyway, glad to help out, Steve--I don't think anyone can say you're slacking off:D .

Well, poop, I'm still having the same problem. I went into cookies and made a "always accept cookies from" www.turbodieselregister.com and turbodieselregister.com and still no dice. Hmmmmm.....

I love the Mozilla browsers by the way. I have a 5 year old gateway and everytime I would get on the net I would get the blue screen and have to turn off the computer. I thought I was going to have to get a new computer. Instead, I switched to Mozilla and it never crashed again:D

I won't kill me to have to log in all the time but it sure would be nice not to worry about it:confused:

Look through the exceptions list. Anything with tdr.com or turbodieselregister.com in it (check in the www.* section, too), if set to 'Block' will mess you up. Also, make sure you're not set to deny all cookies.

If you still can't get it, you could clear all the exceptions and cookies, make sure you've set it to either accept all or prompt you for cookies, then come back and log in.

There might be an option in your TDR control panel, too, that if not set won't remember you...

The tabbed browsing is what I love about Mozilla. Want to open a new link? Middle click, and it makes a new tab at the top instead of opening the new page in the first window, or making a new window. I'll get 20-30 pages lined up this way sometimes, and it's a lot less clutter and a lot less time waiting for the pages to load, as they load in the background while I'm reading the first one.

On suggestion from Steve a while back, I added "https://www.tdr1.com" (without quotes) to the Trusted Site list within the Security tab to cure this type of problem.

Mozilla is my browser of choice also. Gecko, great browser and fast. :)

I also use Netscape.

I use IE at work only when forced to by a recalcitrant web page.

When I asked for admin privileges to install Netscape they wondered why I wanted to use something different than IE - go figure. I snuck Mozilla in during another install - bad boy

At home I've run Linux since the mid-90s. Unfortunately, I've missed putting out the cash for all of MS's versions and continual upgrades. :D

I tried adding tdr.com and tdr1.com to my "always accepted cookies" and still no dice:{ It acts like it is timing out or something. I can sign in, leave it on the sign in page, come back in 10 minutes, go to any forum, and I'll be kicked out:mad: . I guess I'll just deal with it.

What address are you going to the site at? Look up in your address bar. There are a number of pointers to the site - you want to make sure whichever one you are using is on your accept cookies list. There's nothing on this end that "expires" the cookies. You may want to see if you have some other internet security software that may be blocking cookies as well. Do you have an address for getting Mozilla and which version are you running? I'll try installing it and see if I can see anything.

Thanks for checking into this for me Steve. I go to the site at www.turbodieselregister.com I haven't tried the others. Maybe I should huh? You can download Firefox v0. 8 at www.mozilla.org. I really like it. It is just a browser, but they just came out with another suite that has a browser, email, and composer in it. Thanks again:)
