I want a damn 4BT

Thats right, I want a 3. 9LTR 4cyl Cummins CRD... . for my Van! I am sick and f-ing tired of this 360 under the hood, it sucks gas, has a irritating exhaust leak I cant find, has a damn squeek that I have been chasing for months and cant find it, swapped AC pumps, Idler and tensioner pullies, brand new belt... yanked the fan/clutch and its still there, goes away without the belt, guessing its the altenator or the waterpump... . tried the "screwdriver" thing and it helped me non on finding the squeek!



ARGH, why the hell does these little beasts have to be so freakin expensive! Its like 5g's for a 4cly CRD with an allison 2wd transmission with 70+k miles on it, if you can find one. I am sure I could make a 4bt fit, pretty sure a 6bt is out of the question.



Yeah yeah, I could get one with the old rotary pump or the mechanical injection, but I would rather get a CRD version, newer, and quieter, hey, this thing will be less than a 1' from my right leg, if its loud, I am going to hear it.



Anyway, just ranting... .

There is a Menonite fellow around here that put one in his 3600 model ford tractor. That thing must be scary fast. (it has tall gearing because it was a state mowing tractor). Randy

Call these guys. The last ad I saw said they had quite a few with and without transmissions pretty cheap.

Dont rule out Case Equipment as well..... they actually helped Cummins come up with that "B" engine design if i recall correctly (A Cummins tech told me that once..... dont know if its 100% ture or not). Some backhoes, skid steers and such have 4BT's in them... ... . BUT Frito Lay trucks are by far the easiest to come across... . especally in the Dallas area that i have seen when i used to live there... ... . Im just never in a position to buy one!!!!!



NOW what about an ISB4 and an ISB4e? That would be cool... ... . DOnt know where they used them in... ...
