I had to fill out a Card to drink beer at Chillis Tonight. . WTF? lol Kinda wierd if you ask me, first I tried to buy a cold one at the Motorplex but I didn't have a card. I could have bought a card but it would have brought the price of the beer to $8. 50... thats taking it in the shooter for a beer if you ask me. Just Curious as to what the Unicard is and why??

Also for the amount of TDR members for the Dallas Area I hardly saw any CTD trucks. You can't turnaround with out seeing a CTD truck in Tulsa but yet I know of 4 TDR members. You guys haul the mail down there also, at one point on 35E I was doing 90 and I wasn't the only one. So if you saw a Driftwood 2500 with a Wild Ride Motorsports Sticker on the windshield that looked lost... it was me ;) I had a hell of a time finding a good place to eat... you could see them from the highway but getting to them was different. I hadn't been to Dallas since the 80s place has changed lol... Very Nice City IMO

Unicard

Asked the same question 4 years ago when I moved downhere. Long story short, a lot of the counties are still "dry"and in those that are not you need to member of the "club" to purchase alchool. All beer/liquor vendors are members of the same club(unicard), membership is free but you need the damn card, which they'll provide free of charge

just an old law that the good ol' boys network won't let go of. Don't even get me started on the dry counties, I live in one. Home of the free the song goes... ... ... ... ... ..... sure!;) ;)

But your right about one thing, it's one nice place to be,strange beer laws or not.

I wonder how big Colorado would be if we flattend it out? Of course, it wouldn't be as pretty then. I guess it would look like Kansas.

Now, if you flattened out Alaska, ... wow!!!!

The boys are currently flattening a place called Halfa$$ganistan!:D I saw the pictures on t. v. , how can you tell what part has been hit?

Heck we could just cut Alaska in half, then Texas could be the third biggest state... ... .

Hey fish

I drank a beer down there but didn't have a card and I was at the motorplex for funford also but no beer for me, I drove home to OKC area but a different way and at 70 testing the mileage(20. 7) Good to hear more Ok folks are around, that stretch of road your talking about is a fast one most of the time.

I ran around 80 down there(came down 75) and god knows what going through dallas on the way back. After wandering around for awhile I filled up In dallas at 19. 4 mpg and had been WOT a whole lot and was over 100 at one point on the way down, I was surprised. Must be those 12 extra Valves ;)

The race was kind of poorly organized IMHO. My friend that I went down there to watch placed 5th in the True Street class with an average of 10. 56.

That's good mileage, I have a 12 valve and it fuels out at 2500/ 2750 completely(98 MPH)... 3k's on the way. I ran up to tulsa a few weeks ago for the race at 80 (2200) and noticed a little drop in mileage but not much, I cruise around the speed limit but if you passed me like that I'd have to try and keep up for the heck of it. What does your 24 top out like, mine has no lack of power just gear and rpm.

Jim

Going to St louis this summer I held the hammer down for a little over a mile. She is all done at 112mph on the 3400RPM limiter. How often do you come drag race in Tulsa?? I practicly live at the dragstrip lol. I have been bracket racing alot more since I put together a ancient 360 bottom end until my 340 gets done. But if I am not racing I am always putting down some cold beer ;)

Tulsa races

I've come up twice since bo bought the track, the last race and the one before that got rained out:( Sounds like you went to World Ford race, I was there also and had a heck of a time. You were talking about topping it out, now mine with the #8 plate in it tops out real quick but you have to watch the EGT's at close to RPM limit cause it will go from 1100 steady to a fast sweep at fuel shut off. I slid the plate full forward the other day to see what it would do, responds fast but watch the EGT's, I ordered 3k spring from piers Sat. so I'll have them in this week and well see how it works and wil probably slide the plate to the stock position, then saving for DTT transmission mods. I'f they have another heads up race at TIR I'll try to come up to it, or the mid night drags.

Jim

Yeah I did go to the WFC this year and the year before. I am not even a ford guy and I have a blast at those races. I got a flyer the other day about another Heads up Race for the Midnights, can't find it now though. I will dig around for it and let you know when it is.

Tulsa

I have to remember the keep checking this board, If the weather is nicer than now I might come up for the midnight drags. I wonder if they will pay much cause it might bring some folks up from OKC.
