Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) I would like to move the OD switch

I would like to put a gauge in the dash slot on my 97 where the OD switch is located. Any ideas of where to move the switch? Any help appreciated.

Yep, there is a very nice way to do that. Later trucks starting with '98 have the OD button on the end of the shift lever. I have one for a '99 in my '95. The '99 shift lever fits just like the original. It has two wires from it to the OD control. They are a little too short for the early trucks so they have to be extended. The way I did it was to demolish the stock OD button so I could use the base as a connector to the stock wiring. If you do this you have to find a place for an indicator light. I used a 12 volt LED from Radio Shack for that.
