Most of the vendors here have them ready to go and can do overnight to your location (may be a bit pricy, but if I needed it to go on vacation price would have to be no object) and they should have instructions for the R & R. The only special tool I've heard you'll need is a puller for the pump shaft gear before you can remove it, and the vendor you choose should be able to supply one for around $10. I (knock on wood) haven't had to do a VP yet and due to price am not looking forward to the time that I will have to. However, I've heard if you can do a valve adjustment you can do a VP. If/when I have to do mine I'll be looking for an HRVP about $5-600 more than the stocker. Good luck - do a search on VP and you'll probably hit a ton of posts that have vendors listed.
