Pre-First Generation Transfer Case Help

I just wanted to say hello, I've been gone since early 2004 when I sold my truck. Hopefully I will be joining the 1st gen club again as I am trying to buy my old truck back, but if that does not work out I plan on trying to find another 1st gen and start the BOMBs over again. Whichever truck I buy I know that I will never make the mistake of selling it again.

Later,

Kurt.

Well I must say.....

Ifn' everyone keeps buying the 3rd gens and then dumping them for the first gen trucks the market will be flooded with the 3rd gen rigs. The price/value of the new trucks will drop like a sack of potatoes, driving the price of the first gens through the roof.

I simply cannot wait to see what the market will be like when the 3rd gen guys have to pay an extra $5,000 for the '07 emissions gagets let alone come 2010 when they have to use urea to opertae the truck. OMG! The first gen rigs will be woth more than the 3rd gen trucks due to supply vs demand. It's going to become interesting.

I predict the first gen trucks to become the hottest item on the truck market when the realization hits home with the EPA mandated emissions.

Wrong, I don't think so. 1st gens make no power, are junk, don't last, are overpriced, are ugly, are weak. I wouldn't give $500 for a rust free one. ;) ;) ;)

first gens

But on the same note I wouldn't sell my firstgen even if you offered 20 grand for it . well maybeeeeeeeeeeee :-laf

yep I would agree

Sorry it took me so long to post back, I am getting ready to go back to work for the summer and I have been busy. I test drove a 05 about a month ago and I really liked it and the dealer was really reasonable on price but I just don't want a truck payment. I miss my 1st gen, it was super easy to work on and I wasn't afraid of scatching it, it was very dependable and got good fuel mileage. I don't see myself ever buying a 06' or newer due to all of the extra emissions stuff, I like my trucks simple.

I still haven't heard from the current owner so I assume he has either sold the truck or doesn't want to part with it. It looks like I will be looking for a different 1st gen in a couple of months. If I can't get my old one back I am going to try to find a 4X4 91. 5 or newer as I missed having O. D. in my 90' and I want a intercooler as well. I might even try to get I club cab if finances allow.
