I would like to clean up my act (way too much smoke) What is that IAT sensor and what does it do, and where is it. I put bigger injectors and a bigger turbo, and it smokes way too much when I put my foot in it, (which is all the time.

Would installing a valve after my fass system in an effort to turn down the lift pressure to the injection pump be a good thing to do?? I just need to turn the smoke down?? Also I'm not getting the low rpm power I used to. I'm not getting the power untill 1600 rpms or higher. . . Any ideas??? thoughts or suggestions?? I liked the idea of that old man featured a while back in TDRs written mag about the old man that was getting 600 dynoed hp out of a smoke less engine. I would be satisfied with far less.

IAT is Incoming Air Temp sensor

it is at the rear of the motor on the drivers side towards the top

you can remove it and clean it or replace it for about $20

what is your boost? check for boost leaks, are you seeing less boost?

check clean or replace the MAP sensor,

EDM inj's burn a little cleaner (less smoke),

you do NOT want to turn down the F/P to the VP44 you need around 14 psi at all times

running a larger turbo will give you bottom end lag and that will give you lots of smoke

until it spools and cleans up, you could remove your DD 2's and go to a 275 or stock injector and go with

a comp box, is nice cause you can de-fuel the motor (less smoke} if you want to, 5 levels of power and 5 de-fueling modes per level with a 130hp power level and a lot less smoke

every mod you have done will give you lots of power but lots of smoke also

hope this helps a little

"I put bigger injectors and a bigger turbo, and it smokes way too much when I put my foot in it, "

hehe, what did you expect?..... dont like smoke, put in a small turbo and small injectors... ... also the same reason you dont have the low end power you used to.

To all that replied (sorry this took so long)(way too busy) I already checked all the fittings, (tightened the whole intercooler system already)

According to my fuel pressure guage (which I know can be inaccurate) it is bouncing way past 15 (15 lb fuel guage) right on the stop.

I appreciate the reply, and yeah, I'm beginning to realize I may have gotten too big a turbo. (wonder if it will fit on my N14 or my ISX. ) Just Ignorance I guess, but it looks like a damn choo choo train at times. Just like more of that low end torque I had. . .

I did hook up my old van acken (B&D fuel box) and that seems to have taken care of some of the smoke (More power too (it really kicks butt now)) . Do you think one of those adjustable fuel boxes might be the ticket??

Thanks again for the reply(s)!!!!!!

I normally run with my Comp box on 1x1 and I have to TRY to make it smoke. I only bump the box up when I need the power.

I don't want to smoke all the time, and the comp allows me to adjust it as I want. Works great.
