I have been reading about the IAT Sensor and at over 77,000 miles on my 2000 I thought I would pull It out and take a look at it and it was clean as a new baby back side. I took a good look and said that was a wast of time.

I don't know why it was clean but it was. I drive on the Hi Way most of the time and that maybe why it is clean. Oo. Oo.

The AIT has an o-ring. Did you replace it or use the old one? I am worried about breaking it or something and having to wait until I can get one from the stealer to replace.

Just because its clean does not mean it is working correctly... you have to check the resisitance across the sensor and compare it to the values its supposed to read at a give temp... . the values and temps where in the origional IAT thread...

New IAT

I was averaging 15. 6 over the last 40,000 miles. I just went ahead and put in a new IAT and my first tank was 18. 1 mostly highway. The next tank was 17. 8 so I am happy I changed mine.
