ID and password times out in 10 minutes or less

Not sure where the problem is but I don't have this problem with other accounts. Is there a preference somewhere that will keep me timed in for a while longer?

Cookies....

Been covered several times... its the login cookie getting bumped off by your browser. Not much we can do since its your browser that determines which cookies to erase and when.

About 3 weeks ago I asked this question and got the same answer. But now there are a lot more people asking about it. It didn't happen before the new software, and I don't have this problem with any other site. You suggested that I check something about my cookie controls (I know I eat too many).

Is it possible that there is a setting on your end that is set too low for the cookies to hold on to?

It happems the most to me when I go back and forth between different forums. It really is annoying, maybe we all can figure out the problem and fix it like we do with our rides.

Cookies....

It IS cookies, not the software. Per HTTP browser specs, each domain name can only have a limited number of cookies. Every time a new cookie is set while at that limit an older cookie gets bumped.



Every time an ad is displayed, it sets a cookie so it will know which advertiser to redirect to if you click the ad. View a ton of pages on the site without actually performing a user action and the login cookie doesn't get refreshed... therefore it ends up being the oldest and gets bumped. This is NORMALLY not an issue, but many users install "scumware" such as Gator that sets even more cookies (in addition to this "free" software altering pages without telling you). Nothing on the site as far as the boards or the ads has changed since June 1.
