Given the propensity for the Carter LP to fail, any suggestions on where to purchase a check valve to install parallel to the LP? This is to be done so the VP-44 is not trying to suck fuel through a failed LP. This will allow me to drive to a safe location to change it. The idea is that if (when) the Carter dies the check valve will open allowing a unrestricted fuel flow AROUND the Carter.

All the check valves I have found so far are gravity operated and rated for water. I want one rated for fuel and spring loaded.

Thanks

any of the check valves i found that were fuel rated were set up to have fuel "pushed" through them. the spring rates were too high imo to have any pump sucking through them" if i couldnt blow through it, i didnt want my VP to try to suck throught it".

Carter lists one in the electric pump section of their catalog. It has very low spring pressure just for this type application. My local NAPA carries them.
