Ideas where to mount my new DieselSite coolant filter *Updated with install pics*

Hey guys, I just got this kit in and I will say, the filter head is a thing of beauty. I've discovered since buying this truck that I love filtration, I have my bypass filter installed on the intake manifold where this coolant filter was supposed to so I was reaching out to you guys for a place to mount. I was debating the firewall but I'm kind of wary of punching holes in it, I was hoping I could find somewhere either by the passenger side battery or something of that nature. Just wanted to get some other points of view to mount this baby up. Thanks in advance!

I mounted mine on a steel plate - in the position where Dieselsite recommends, but the steel plate allowed me to raise it up. I will get some pics tomorrow and post.

Thank you so much, I appreciate the pics. I don't know if I can mount it where they recommended place because of my bypass filter.

Why do you need a coolant filtration and conditioning system on an engine that doesn't have cavitation issues? Never seen a Cummins "B" series yet that had damage from cavitation issues.

The cat filters I have contain no cooling system conditioners in them. I guess just ocd I suppose

Here is how I mounted mine. It is in the location that the instructions say (pass side, right behind the fog light) but it was too low - hung down, so I got a thin steel plate from HD and mounted the bottom of the plate in the orig filter head location and then mounted the filter head to the top of the plate - if that makes sense. Ran the hoses up behind the wheel well liner.

There is also this option http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3...31-22-micron-coolant-filter-installation.html I emailed the guy and he said he removed the "cowling" or whatever it is called - black slatted plastic part across the front bottom of the windshield where the wipers are - to access the area underneath in order to attach the filter head. I did not go this route as I thought I would get beneficial cooling by mounting the filter where it is now (down low and not in the hot engine compartment)

Thank you for the pics, I like where you have it tucked, I need to see if I can mount it there since I think my scoop might be in the way. Thank you again!

Well got it installed on the firewall, the cowl was easy to get under, I may have cried a little bit inside drilling the two holes into the truck but I think it looks pretty clean where it's at, and it's out of the way.
