In the mornings when I am warming up my truck I will idle it up to 1200rpm and have it in neutral is this bad on the transmission should I have it in park?
 
It won't hurt a thing. Idling in neutral is the only way to warm up an automatic because the transmission fluid will not circulate when you are in park.
