I need some opinions. I bumped the idle to 750 in drive when the engine is warm. When it's cold, I still need to give it some throttle for it to start. Is that normal? Should I make the idle higher or make it 750 when cold?
The start proceedure on from dodge says to apply 1/4 throttle to start (That's alot of fuel on a cold morning) and then idle at 1000 rpm for atleast 30 seconds to lubrocate the turbo and such... .
I set mine at 800 cold in drive and AC on... Started fine every morning unitl I removed my fuel heater. .
Yeah cold start is no problem giving pedal, it's should even say that on the visor for cold start procedure. I don't give 1/4 throttle though, more like 1/8 if that and it fires right up.
mine needed quite a bit of throttle at start up before the tune up (and hence smoke). Now after the tune up, even on cold mornings, it hardly smokes any if at all when giving it some throttle on start up
