Will an idle speed below the recommendation 750-800 hurt anything within the motor?

Currently the tach (which I know could be off a little) reads 500ish when warm and even a little lower at start up or with the AC on. But I don't have a stalling problem and I just "tap" the pedal to get her started.....

Thanks

Mike

The only potential issue is letting it idle for an extended amount of time in cold weather. . . it'll likely cool down faster than if it was at normal idle RPM.

Don't know if it has an affect on the 5. 9 Cummins, but on some diesels an idle speed below specs causes a twisting on the crankshaft from the firing cycles that will break it in two. .
