I installed a GSK kit about 4mos ago, and absolutely am amazed at how the truck will rev now. I was reading a little bit today, and am concerned with my numbers. The truck will easily pull past 3600rpms, which surprised me, but I'm having problems with the idle speed. The truck idles in park/neutral, at a little over 1000rpms. When I put it in drive, it pulls the idle way down to 750ish. This seems like a huge drop in rpms to me. Also, I cant get the idle to adjust down anymore, it seems like this is as low as it will go. What should I do? Do the springs need more/less tension? A mechanic friend helped with the install, so I don't know exactly how to adjust them.

Also, the truck seems to idle rougher than most 12valves.

Thanks

Corey

An easy way to see if the gov springs are adjusted too tight is, with the engine warmed up rev the engine up slowly. The rpm's should stay with you, in other words, if you give it enough throttle to raise the rev's to 1300 rpm's & they go higher all by themselves, the gov springs are too tight. Also, if the gov springs are too tight yoy won't be able to turn the idle down, as they are now controlling the idle speed, not the set screw.

Well I would say they are definitely too tight then, because that exactly describes how the truck runs. I am going to get in the garage tonight and back them off 2 clicks, and see how it performs.

Thanks

Corey
