Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) idle speed

I was wondering if there was a reason that my truck idles so hi-850rpm. Kind of a pain when it is slick out , tough to creep. with no weight in the back it breaks loose so I have to really feather the clutch. Is there anyway to slow it down some? I might try 1st gear starts but I reckon the same problem will exist.

i know that you mean, i wish you could turn it down. its comp controlled. you can thank CARB for that. the rpms were raised for emission reasons. the only fix is to p-pump it
