After a month thinking the problem was gone, its back again. Engine makes a "pinging " type noise and tries to stall, actually did, but may have been because I was taking off and did'nt give it enough go pedal. What do you guys think? I may try the modded relief valve trick and see if that changes anything, my thinking being maybe its popping open and dropping pressure in the rail, make sense?

What does FCA stand for? what is its function on the pump?

Fuel Control Actuator. It's an electronically controlled solenoid valve, which, (based on the ECM), controls the amount of fuel that enters the high pressure chambers in the CP3. (Straight out of the manual. )

From what I've read on this site, to test it, you need to remove it and shake it. If it rattles, it's good.

There is a TSB on this. TSB 14-004-05

My FCA on the modded CP3 rattled like the stock one, but was FUBARed still. It had an imperfection on the plunger that caused it to slightly hang up in its bore during fueling just off idle.

Initial test flight indicates problem solved!! Will be doing some more local low level flying tonight after dark and see how she behaves !
