I have been having a problem with my 01. I'll start the truck everything normal. I will drive for awhile and when it acts up it will start idleing high. The longer I drive the higher it will get until I loose total throttle control. If i usse the cruise it will drive fine. If I just try to hold it at a steady speed manually it surges. When a code pops up it says TPS voltage doe not agree with map. I have had to replace the TPS 2 times. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Apps

Let me be the first to welcome you to the TDR Phillip.

When you say you replaced the TPS, do you mean you replaced the APPS? Its located just forward of the intake horn under the plastic housing. Its a common problem with our trucks. There are a couple of different options for the APPS. The Timbo apps is one that comes to mind.

Also if you could fill out your signature with your truck info, it will help everyone when seeking advice.

Good luck.

Welcome to the TDR your life line to your CTD

Manual or Auto. Sounds like a APPS (Accelerator position pedal sensor) Make sure to calibrate any that have been put on. Do a search on APPS calibration hear on TDR and you should find it. You will need a VOM to check voltage while adjusting the APPS to the required output.

Thanks to both of ya'll for the welcome. Yes I am talking about the APPS i'm use to everyone calling a TPS. I Know that is part of the problem. I am on my 3rd one. something keeps on making them go out. I Have had people say its the programmer, but it doe it regardless weather it's in or out. I had the Superchips now I have the Smarty.
