just put a new 4k GSK on my friends '97 CTD, auto, and it's idling at 2000 RPM's. Throttle seems to be free, as in not hung up on anything.

Did a search, and couldn't really find any good detail on where the idle adjustment is... ... we take it it's on the rear of the pump (injection?) under a 10 mm jam nut. Where exactly should we be looking, and how can we get the idle down?

Thanks, Josh.

The idle adjustment is at the rear and low down. put your hand down there and gently open and close the throttle and you will feel the arm moving. Use a mirror and flashlight to see it and all will become clear, its really easy to do once you figure out where it is. I bet the follower is not at the right place on the fuel plate. When my 4K set went in I had no power at all and I mean NONE. The follower adjustment woke it up big time. See Piers web site for directions on how to set the follower.

It sounds like you are too tight on the adjust of the spring packs. You left the shim(s) (if any) under the big spring you didn't change?

the shims stay under the big spring. U can take them out and undjust it down a click or two. Did u put the big spring back in? The big one has to stay in. Also u could have turn too many clicks down. Should be somewhere about 4 to 6 clicks (1/4 turns) tighter than flush. Flush being top of nut and top of stud.
